I provide online therapy to better accommodate my clients’ busy lifestyles. Typically, for our initial session, we meet in-person before we begin online sessions. However, in light of the recent COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic, I have migrated my practice entirely online to promote social distancing! I am licensed in both Texas and New York, so this service applies to both new and existing clients who are residents.
Online therapy gives you access to therapy from anywhere you are via a computer, tablet, or smartphone. You will have the ease and the convenience to meet with me wherever you would like! First, if you would like to book an appointment, please email me at info@modernlifepsych.com or call me at (512) 730-1820. Once I respond back to you (less than 24 hours) with an appointment time, I will email you two links. The first link is an invitation to an online client portal. Once you log in and complete all the related paperwork (e.g, consent for therapy, intake/background questionnaires), I will send you another email confirming your appointment. In this email, you will also receive a unique link that will take you to our online session at the time of your appointment. The process is very simple, convenient, and secure.
Meeting with me is HIPAA-compliant, which means that I adhere to strict federal and state laws that protect your information. I use a platform called Simple Practice which ensures that all of your data is secured with bank-level encryption, your sessions are anonymous, and none of your information is stored or recorded.
All you need is a computer, tablet, or mobile device with a good internet connection. Make sure that your mic and camera are turned on! You do not need to register for an account or create a password. If you are using a computer, the online sessions work through your web browser. On a phone or tablet, there is an app that you can use to access our session, or you can just simply follow the link in your email.
Yes! In fact, some clients prefer to meet online due to the convenience. Especially for those who live further away, have demanding careers, or have less time flexibility, online therapy is highly desirable. Here is some research about teletherapy and its effectiveness:
