Individual Therapy for Adults
I work with a diverse range of clients, many of whom are high achievers—intelligent, creative individuals with a strong drive for personal growth. Despite their success, they often experience anxiety, stress, and a fear of failure. Some struggle with self-care, while others cope with life’s pressures by developing unhealthy habits or avoidance behaviors. For some, the fear of not measuring up leads to procrastination, guilt, and a sense of being stuck.
A common misconception is that goal-oriented individuals always translate their ambition into high performance, but that’s not always the case. Often, the fear of failing or not achieving the ideal outcome can paralyze them, causing them to avoid taking action altogether. If this sounds familiar, I applaud you for taking the first step by visiting my website. You’re already moving in the right direction!
In our work together, I integrate evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as insights from neuroscience to help you understand how your brain and nervous system impact your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Understanding how your nervous system responds to stress and activates different survival modes—such as fight, flight, or freeze—can provide you with powerful tools to manage overwhelming emotions. I also incorporate Polyvagal Theory, which explores how our autonomic nervous system influences our emotional and physiological responses to stress and safety. By learning to regulate your nervous system, we can shift these automatic responses and create lasting change.
The goal is not just to manage symptoms but to retrain your brain and nervous system, helping you move from a place of fear and reactivity to one of resilience and empowerment. We’ll work together to reframe negative thought patterns, so that your habits and mindsets serve you rather than hold you back.
I also support clients in making sense of their emotions. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or unprocessed feelings that surface during stressful times, I help you understand how these emotions are tied to your nervous system and learn techniques to regulate them. When negative thoughts and unhelpful narratives take over, they can prevent you from reaching your goals and living authentically.
My clients are people who care deeply—about their relationships, their roles as partners, parents, friends, and community members. They desire more meaningful connections and want to feel truly understood. Although they may seem put-together on the outside, they often feel that their inner lives don’t reflect their public persona.
No matter where you’re starting from or what you’ve experienced, I can help you tap into your innate ability to heal, grow, and become the best version of yourself. You only need to bring the willingness to try and a commitment to the process.
